Your old (grey or pink) driving licence was issued by another driving licence authority. In this case, please apply in writing or by telephone to the driver licensing authority of your original place of residence for a record card transcript. Tell the employee that you now live in Jena and would like to apply for a new driver's license.

Requesting a copy of your Jena driver's license

Your old driver's license was issued by the driver's license authority in Jena.

Address your request to the city of Jena:

Necessary information

In order to be able to process your request as quickly as possible and without additional queries, we require - informally - the following information:

• Family name
• former surnames (maiden name or married name)
• first name or given names (please indicate all)
• Date of birth
• Place of birth
• Date of issue / list number of driving licence (if possible)
• current residential address
• private telephone number for possible queries

Please also inform us of the exact address and possibly the fax number of the driving licence authority for which you require the copy of the index card. The copy of the index card will be sent directly to the driving licence authority.

Residence in a Member State of the European Union

If you have moved to a member state of the European Union and need a copy of your driving licence there, please send us an informal letter and enclose a copy of your identity document.

The copy of the index card will be sent to your home address.

There is no charge for the issuance of an index card transcript.
