Apply for a resident parking permit

Entitled is

• who has his main residence in the respective resident parking zone and
• can prove that they do not have a private parking space in their parking zone and
• is registered as the owner of a motor vehicle (with a total weight of less than 3.5 t) or
• can prove that he has a motor vehicle for permanent use.

Registering a vehicle at the main residence

Applicants who are the owner of a vehicle with foreign or foreign license plates, please note that according to § 46 FZV, the vehicle owner is obliged to register his vehicle at his main place of residence.

Since the Bürgerservice is also the registration authority, a new resident parking permit will only be issued in these cases if the owner also applies for the vehicle to be transferred to Jena at the same time.

• If applicable, authorization of use of the vehicle owner - If you are applying for a resident parking permit for a vehicle for which you are not also the owner, you will need a written authorization of use from the vehicle owner.
• If applicable, a written power of attorney - If you are instructing a third party to apply for a resident parking permit, they will need a written power of attorney from you.

Please note: There will be no (pro rata) refund of fees if the permit is returned or the conditions for entitlement cease to apply before its validity expires.
