Apply for a postal vote
If you are unable to attend the polling station in person on election day, you can vote by post. The easiest way to apply for this is online. For technical reasons, postal voting documents will not be sent out until 05.02.2025.

Application
The easiest and most secure way to apply for a postal vote is online using the appropriate form. However, you can also apply for a postal vote by completing the form on the election notification and sending it back to the city by post or posting it in the letterbox at Bürgerdiensten, Engelplatz 1. It is also possible to apply by e-mail to briefwahl@jena.de, providing all the necessary information (name, date of birth, registration address, address to which the postal voting documents are to be sent). For technical reasons, the mailing of postal voting documents will not begin until 05.02.2025. Please also note the postal delivery times when planning your schedule.
Postal polling station
The postal voting office, where you can also collect your postal voting documents in person and vote immediately if you wish, is located in the event room of the Citizens' Services Department, Engelplatz 1, access via Klostergasse.

End of online application
The online application for the Bundestag election ends on Wednesday, 19.02.2025, 12:00 noon.
Returning and handing in the letters
Please return your postal voting documents by post no later than the Wednesday before the election Sunday . You can also hand in postal ballot letters at the postal polling station (see below) or drop them in the city's deadline letterbox, Gerbergasse, by midnight on the Saturday before election Sunday or hand them in at the election center, Bürgerdienste, Engelplatz 1, by 6 p.m. on election Sunday.
Opening hours
Das briefwahllokal ist ab dem 05.02.2025 geöffnet und es kann vor Ort sofort gewählt werden. Im Zeitraum vom 03.02.-07.02.2025 besteht die Möglichkeit zur Einsicht in das Wählerverzeichnis. Anträge auf briefwahl werden ebenfalls ab 03.02.2025 entgegen genommen.
