Molecular biomedicine researches the development of organs, tissues and cells in order to better understand the processes of life and get to the bottom of the causes of disease. Various molecular and cell biological analysis methods are used to investigate how cells function fundamentally, communicate with each other and perceive signals from their environment.

The various research groups at the CMB use a wide range of methods to investigate and understand the tasks and functions of healthy and diseased cells. A detailed understanding of the physiology of cells can be used to develop successful treatment strategies to combat diseases.

Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics, LS Biochemistry, FSU:

In the Science Cinema, we present the highlights of research at the CMB with short presentations for all those who are curious and interested in science. Our posters provide detailed insights into scientific projects and invite discussion. In the "Molecule Kitchen", visitors young and old can get active and, for example, decipher the genetic code with us and then translate it into messenger mRNA and proteins, the macromolecular all-rounders.

Institute of Molecular Cell Biology, UKJ:

In the laboratory, the scientists demonstrate the possibilities for visualizing proteins (proteins) and DNA and how these can provide information about various signal functions. Visitors can also view brightly colored cells under the microscope and learn more about different regulatory mechanisms in cells in video presentations and posters.
