Official medical examination for students

Ability to take examinations

If your examination regulations and/or a special legal provision (such as for doctors and lawyers) stipulate that you must present an official medical certificate if you are absent from an examination due to illness, or if you are requested to do so directly by your responsible examination office, please use our public consultation hours. Prerequisites for an official medical examination in this regard are:

  • You have your residence in Jena.
  • You can present a current certificate of incapacity for work (AU) from your family doctor/specialist doctor to the Health Department.
  • You will appear at the Health Department on the day of your examination, at the latest one day later.

Special questions

In individual cases, the Student Health Services will carry out assessments on special issues for students, such as the granting of an extension of the writing time, a disadvantage compensation or a semester of leave, if this is indicated for health reasons. Please contact your examination office in good time to find out whether a medical certificate is required and what deadlines may have to be met. Examinations for special questions are only carried out after an appointment has been made. Prerequisites for such examinations are:

  • You have your residence in Jena.
  • You can prove that you are/were ill for a longer period of time by means of a current (long-term) certificate of incapacity for work from your family doctor/specialist doctor or by means of family doctor/specialist doctor/psychological reports or hospital reports.

Aktuell können im Fachdienst Gesundheit wieder Begutachtungen durchgeführt werden. Hierfür vereinbaren Sie bitte einen termin bei uns über den unten stehenden Ansprechpartner.
