Extend resident parking permit

The term of the resident parking permit is usually one year. You should renew your permit in good time. You will then receive a new permit at the same time as the expiring one, the validity of which begins with the expiry of the old permit. You do not have to hand in your old permit in this context.

When applying for an extension online, make sure that the applicant is the holder of the resident parking permit.

Note on data entry for online renewal: In the field "Parking permit number", the distinguishing letter of the respective zone must be entered followed by the digits without spaces, for example W0141.

We recommend that you submit your application about 3-4 weeks before your old pass expires.

• Identification document - Not required when applying via the Internet. The identification document is sent to the vehicle owner registered with the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (Federal Motor Transport Authority) or to the user of the vehicle - see authorisation of use.
• Registration certificate Part I
• If applicable, authorization of use of the vehicle owner - If you are applying for a resident parking permit for a vehicle for which you are not also the owner, you will need a written authorization of use from the vehicle owner.
• If applicable, a written power of attorney - If you instruct a third party to apply for a resident parking permit, they will need a written power of attorney from you.
• Form of proof when applying online - You can send us the proofs by post after your online application or scan them and send them to kfz@jena.de as a file.

Note

There will be no (pro rata) refund of fees if the permit is returned or if the conditions for entitlement cease to apply before its validity expires.
