New closures / obstructions

2x federal highway 7

• Type: Closure on one side
• Location: Between the junction with Dorfstraße and the junction with Am Krautgarten (Jena-Wogau)
• Duration: 07.04.2025 to 18.04.2025
  
• Reason: Fiber optic expansion work
• Detail: The construction measure will be implemented in several construction phases.
  
• Type: Half-sided closure
• Location: Between the end of Jena-Wogau and the entrance to Jena
• Duration: 07.04.2025 to 30.04.2025
• Reason: Renovation of the road surface
• Detail: A mobile traffic light regulates the traffic.

Center (Thüringer Holzmarkt)

• Type: Closure
• Location: Holzmarkt, eichplatz, Rathausgasse and the Schloßgasse parking lot
• Duration: 05.04.2025
• Reason: Thüringer Holzmarkt
• Detail: Stalls will be set up in the closed areas and demonstrations will take place.

Finished closures

At the brewery (underpass in the direction of Paradies and Saalebrücke)

August-Bebel-Straße

• Type: Sectional half-side closure incl. sidewalk closures
• Duration: until 02.05.2025
  Reason: Fiber optic expansion
  Details: People on foot will have to move to the opposite sidewalk in some places. The fiber optic cables will also be laid in Gartenstraße and Botzstraße. As Botzstraße is very narrow, it will have to be completely closed.

Buchaer Straße

• Type: Half-sided closure
• Location: At house number 16
• Duration: until 25.04.2025
• Reason: Work on the drinking water pipeline
• Details: The area can be passed safely on foot.

Carl-Zeiß-Platz

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: House numbers 12 - 14
• Duration: until 29.08.2025
• Reason: Renovation and new construction of the German Optical Museum

Ladies' quarter

• Type: Restrictions on sidewalks, some parking spaces temporarily closed
• Duration: until 02.05.2025
• Reason: Fiber optic expansion

Dammstraße

• Type: Complete closure
• Duration: until 30.06.2025
• Reason: Laying of cables and renewal of the road surface
• Details: A detour will be signposted. The construction work is divided into two construction phases:
  1st construction phase: Magnus-Poser-Straße to Schenkstraße
  2nd construction phase: Schenkstraße to Charlottenstraße

3x Dornburger Straße

• Type: Full road closures at certain points
• Location: between Nordschule and Altenburger Straße
• Duration: until 17.04.2025
• Reason: Replacement of the streetcar overhead line masts

• Addition: From 06.01.2025 to 31.10.2025, a one-way road (half-sided closure, driving direction into the city) will be set up in the area of Dornburger Straße 6. The closure will be used for loading and unloading and as a construction site facility. Out-of-town traffic will be diverted via Spitzweidenweg and Nollendorfer Straße.

Dornburger Straße/ Naumburger Straße

• Type: various closures
• Duration: until 17.04.2025
• Reason: Surface treatment in the track areas
• Details: There will be no streetcar service during this time. A rail replacement service will be set up.

Section: Dornburger Straße / Friedrich-Wolf-Straße level crossing

• Type: Complete closure
• Details: The closure can be bypassed via Dornburger Straße.

Section: Naumburger Straße 113 and level with house number 129

• Type: Closure of the track area
• Details: You can drive and walk past the closed area.

Section: Naumburger Straße / Max-Gräfe-Gasse

• Type: Full closure of Max-Gräfe-Gasse and half-sided closure of Naumburger Straße
• Details: Traffic in Naumburger Straße will be guided past the closure by mobile traffic lights. The roadworks can be safely passed on foot.

Ernst-Abbe-Platz

• Duration: until 30.04.2025
• Reason: Construction work in the track area
• Details: Crossing facilities for pedestrians will be set up.

Ernst-Thälmann-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between house number 1 and Bärengasse
• Duration: until 30.10.2025
• Reason: Line extension
• Details: The measure will be carried out in two construction phases. The access roads "Am Johannisberg" and "Am Alten Schloss" will remain accessible for residents.

Friedrich-Engels-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Duration: until 15.09.2025
• Reason: Pipe laying
• Details: In the direction of Ziegenhain, traffic will be diverted via Leo-Sachse-Straße and Haydnstraße. In the direction of the city center, traffic will be diverted via Kernbergstraße and Am Kochersgraben. Both roads are one-way streets during the construction phase.

Grenzstraße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: Junction with Geraer Straße up to the railroad bridge
• Duration: until 30.04.2025
• Reason: Fundamental road expansion
• Details: A detour will be signposted.

Isserstedter Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: from house number 21 to the junction with Zum Ziskauer Tal
• Duration: The work in the entire district of Lützeroda will last until the end of 2025
• Reason: Fundamental road expansion
• Details: The detour will be signposted.

Church square

• Type: Traffic restrictions
• Location: Around the town church
• Duration: until 30.05.2025
• Reason: extensive construction work
• Details: Access to the town church will be guaranteed during the entire construction period. Saalstraße will be fully closed for transit/delivery traffic.

Lessingstraße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between Fröbelstieg and Max-Wien-Platz
• Duration: until 31.12.2025
• Reason: Civil engineering works and construction site transportation
• Details: The construction site can be bypassed via Helmholtzweg.

Löbdergraben, eastern footpath

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between Steinweg and Lutherplatz
• Duration: until 17.04.2025
• Reason: Roadworks and media relocation
• Details: Pedestrians can use the opposite sidewalk.

Lützowstraße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: House number 14 to Mühlenstraße
• Duration: until 31.07.2025
• Reason: Connection of a transformer station
• Details: Traffic will be regulated as a one-way system: The exit from Lichtenhain is via Wildenbruchstraße, the entrance via Ammerbacher Oberweg. The detour route has no weight restrictions and is therefore also open to HGV traffic.

Lutherplatz direction Fürstengraben

• Type: Closure of one lane
• Duration: until 11.04.2025
• Reason: Sidewalk work
• Details: The right turn lane into Saalbahnhofstraße will be fully closed. Traffic wishing to turn right into Saalbahnhofstraße can do so via the middle lane.

Lutherstrasse

• Type: Full closure
• Location: At house number 149
• Duration: until 14.04.2025
• Reason: Laying of house connections (district heating)
• Details: Public transport will be diverted via Sickingenstraße / Talstraße in the direction out of town and via Herderstraße / Sickingenstraße in the direction into town. The road closure can also be bypassed via Erfurter Straße. The roadworks can be safely passed on foot.

Moritz-von-Rohr-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: Corner of Lichtenhainer Straße
• Duration: until 25.07.2025
• Reason: District heating installation
• Details: Traffic will be diverted via Carl-Zeiss-Promenade and Lichtenhainer Straße. Resident traffic is permitted up to the construction site.

Paradiesstraße/ Grietgasse

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: Closure from the entrance to the underground parking garage along Paradiesstraße and in Grietgasse up to the pavement/asphalt transition.
• Duration: until 30.04.2025
• Reason: Roadworks
• Details:
  • During the construction period, passage for motorized traffic is not possible. Bus traffic will be diverted. Pedestrians can still pass through the areas.
  • Vehicle owners should make alternative parking arrangements in good time, as no alternative parking spaces will be provided.
  • Emergency services and waste disposal companies have been informed and have made appropriate arrangements.

Ritzetal and Berthold-Delbrück-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Duration: until 31.12.2025
• Reason: Work on the supply and disposal lines
• Details: The detour is via Am Steinborn and Eugen-Diederich-Straße. Bus traffic will also be diverted via Am Steinborn and Löbichauer Straße.

Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: At house numbers 8 - 30
• Duration: until 24.04.2025
• Reason: Reconstruction of wastewater sewer

Semmelweisstrasse

• Type: Closure
• Location: Intersection Semmelweis- / Gartenstraße
• Duration: until 23.05.2025
• Details: Laying of a new district heating pipeline

Schroeterstraße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: from Strigelstraße to Forstweg
• Duration: until 30.05.2025
• Reason: Fundamental road expansion
• Details: During the construction period there is no connection to Katharinenstraße.
• Addition: In the area of Forstweg, a half-sided closure will be set up from April 2 to 8, 2025 due to search shafts. After that, a full closure will be in place from 08.04.2025 to 22.04.2025 for civil engineering work.

Wiesenstraße, traffic circle

• Duration: until 29.11.2025
• Reason: fundamental redesign
• Details: Access to Kunitz and the adjacent industrial estate is only possible via Brückenstraße, but not via Wiesenstraße. A wide detour is signposted via Am Anger - Dornburger Straße - Camburger Straße. An emergency footpath to Kunitz and in the direction of Naumburger Straße leads past the roadworks.

Ziegenhainer Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Place: House number House number 95 - 107
• Duration: until 17.04.2025
• Reason: Fiber optic expansion
• Details: Traffic will be diverted via Holzweg. The construction site can be passed safely on foot.
