Welding is not a harmless joining process, but it is all the more exciting. At ifw Jena, we show you how it's done.

To join two metal parts together, they can be welded. The metals are heated above their melting temperature and thus joined together. Special care is required due to the high heat generated and the bright welding flame. At ifw Jena, we conduct research into the various welding processes. In our welding technology training center, we train welders and provide them with the necessary specialist knowledge and technical skills to carry out welding work in their company.

Our experts will be welding live at ifw Jena during the Long Night of Science - you and your children can be there up close and look over the experts' shoulders. We will of course provide protective goggles.

Note
Hourly screenings at 18:30, 19:30, 20:30, 21:30, 22:30, 23:30
