Who can find the book? A mobile robot demonstrates the fully autonomous inventory of books and items of clothing equipped with UHF RFID tags. A book thought to be lost in a library is found again, with an accuracy of just 10 cm!

With the help of modern UHF radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, items such as clothing and sporting goods in retail stores, books in libraries, artifacts in museums and archives, and items in warehouses can be recorded wirelessly during an inventory.

An autonomous mobile robot equipped with UHF RFID reading technology will be demonstrated, which carries out the inventory of prepared books and items of clothing fitted with RFID transponders completely independently. The speed of automated stocktaking is more than 10 times faster than manual stocktaking. At the same time, the RFID-tagged objects are estimated in their position, making it possible to find lost books or misplaced items of clothing on the store floor with an accuracy of just 10 cm!
