The video presentation "Micro Macro - Life Sciences in Jena" offers fascinating insights into the life sciences, shows projects from bacteria to humans and unites excellent research under the motto of the University of Jena "LIGHT, LIFE, LIBERTY".

In Jena, seven research institutions have joined forces with cultural mediators. They want to bring the fascinating world of life sciences closer to many people. A photo show was therefore organized with research topics from biology, medicine, chemistry and geology.

Under the motto "LIGHT, LIFE, LIBERTY - Connecting Visions.", the University of Jena is conducting outstanding and interdisciplinary research. In order to experience the micro- and macrocosm of LIFE Sciences, the LIFE profile line has created the photo show "MicroMacro - Life Sciences in Jena".

The photo show shows everything from bacteria and fungi to plants, insects and humans. You can immerse yourself in the world of microbes, admire the diversity of ecosystems, look at molecular processes in cells and see how diseases develop, are diagnosed and cured.

Science often seems abstract and difficult to understand. But the photos in this show show that the life sciences have many connections to our own perception, as they study our environment and people themselves.

The photos show fascinating images of the smallest biological structures, which are possible thanks to high-performance microscopes. These technological advances would be unthinkable without the historic collaboration between Carl zeiss, Ernst Abbe and Otto Schott. Innovation and collaboration have always been part of Jena science. The modern scientific landscape of the young researchers is made visible in the photo show "Micro Macro - Life Sciences in Jena". With large-format images, the scientists invite you to discover the world of life sciences.
